September Start Update

The start of an academic year is always fraught as our young people return to us after a long break and new cones join us for the first time. Establishing good habits and routines is crucial at this point and none more so as this year. I am pleased to be able to write that there has been a very smooth start to term and our students seem very glad to be back and keen to re-engage with learning. As you are already aware all of this week has been devoted to our ‘Right Start’ programme as it is very important that we establish good habits and routines particularly in response to Covid 19. Our young people have responded well to the new ways of doing things and I look forward to the normal timetable starting next week There is one time change for next week. Year 10 will finish school at 3pm instead of 2:30pm. Year 9 will finish at 2:50pm instead of 3pm. This change allows for a staggered finish but also allows time for the full year GCSE curriculum to be delivered We continue to closely monitor the local coronavirus infection rate and the guidance from the DFE and Public Health. I will keep you informed of any major changes we may need to make and apologise in advance should there be short notice. We live in very difficult times and again I thank you for your support. If you have any queries or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us. Yours sincerely Janis Davies Principal
